Dear Mr Aratani. In the short time I spent in Hiroshima I learned much about Japanese culture and Hiroshima's history. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us, I think it truly did open our eyes. Hiroshima is a really beautiful place, surrounded by mountains and lush forestry. I really enjoyed my stay there! I thought the Memorial Peace Park was amazing! Especially how everything was aligned. I learnt much from the museum and found Sadako's story both motivational and inspiring. I also enjoyed the shopping. =]Thank you once again, From Alice. Loreto College, Australia
Dear Aratani-san, I have waited much too long to write and thank you for guiding me around Peace Park and opening my eyes in new ways. I have benefited enormously from my day with you and Nakanishi-san, and have found myself reflecting on the experience ever since. It was an important day for me, and I am grateful for your many personal insights. Please convey my thanks to Ms. Nakanishi when you see her next time. I attach a few photos. With all my best wishes for your continuing good health.
It was a wonderful experience, especially having Mr Aratani give us a tour of the Peace Park and the Museum. He also gave a wonderful talk to the staff from Loreto College Australia. The whole afternoon was very moving and the Interpreters for Peace are to be thanked.
My special thanks to Mr. Aratani and Mr Hirai for sharing their stories with my colleagues and myself during our visit to the Peace Park on 4 July. It was a very moving and humbling experience for me. Today, Hiroshima Day, at 8.15 a.m. , my class stopped to reflect on what had happened in 1945 and we prayed for all who died and all who suffered so much. In the garden of our school, we placed paper cranes on a tree and we took time to reflect on the horror of war and the need to remove nuclear weapons, and indeed, all weapons from our planet. Thank you again for reminding us of the horror and the injustice of war.
Thank you for your e-mail.We express our sincere gratitude for that you and your students prayed for and remembered Hiroshima on 8:15 on August 6. We greatly appreciate your efforts for peace. On August 4 and 6, Mr Aratani and Hirai talked their A-bomb experiences to about 160 foreigners in total. We attended the Peace Memorial Ceremony on that morning and renewed our vow to abolish nuclear weapons. We sincerely hope that you will continue to convey peace messages to your students and are looking forward to welcoming your students again.
With my best regards, Sachi Sakamoto, on behalf of HIP
Dear Artani San and Hirai San Mitzi and I were certainly blessed by your willingness to spend time with us sharing your memories of the awful experience that followed the bombing of Hiroshima on August 6. 1945. We sensed your pain and wish it could have been otherwise. Those memories are seared in your mind and allowing people like us to share them with you can be important for helping all of us come to peace with this awful historical event. Thanks so much. We send you are best for long life. We are enclosing some pictures of you from the trip. They will serve as treasured memories of our visit to Hiroshima. Bray San

Dear Mrs. Mitsue Fujii,
Thank you very much for your kind email. We were very glad to see you in Hiroshima. I appreciate that you gave us your testimony. I know it is always very tough for you. You have to re-experience everything again. But for us, it was such a great opportunity to listen to the A-bomb survivors story. And I am very glad to see you- such a wonderful lady. I also think I was lucky that you showed our group around the Peace Park as well. Tommy, who was a teacher with me, said that he really likes you very much later on that day. We thought that you are such a lovely lady. Your story gave us a huge impact. I couldn't help crying while listening to your story. I am so impressed how brave you are and how wonderful you are. I am happy that you finally can start studying. And I am so impressed your action to try to let everyone all over the world know about the A-bomb.
My husband is American. He's never been to Hiroshima before. So, in near the future, I 'd love to take my husband to Hiroshima. I think, everyone should see what happened in Hiroshima on that day. We should learn our human being's mistake and we shouldn't forget it.
Again, thank you very much for your kindness. I hope you will have a great life with your family and I wish a good luck on your action for building peace. I hope to see you again! Sincerely,
